Privacy Policy
Effective October 13, 2026
I Sea Parks ("the app", "we", "us") helps you explore Seattle's public parks, keep track of the ones you've visited and jot down notes about them. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, who it's shared with, and how you can delete it.
- You can browse every park without an account. Nothing about you is collected when you do.
- If you sign in, we store your name, email, visit history, notes and any park sign photos you submit, so the app can show them back to you.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking, and we never sell your information.
- Your location stays on your device. It's only used to show you on the map.
- You can delete your account and data at any time from Profile → Delete Account.
Information we collect
When you browse without signing in
Nothing that identifies you. The app downloads the public park list and park photos from our own servers (see Third parties).
When you sign in
Sign-in is optional and uses Sign in with Apple or Google. We receive and store:
| Information | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address | To identify your account and show it on your profile. If you choose Apple's "Hide My Email", we only receive a private relay address. |
| Name | Provided by Apple or Google when you first sign in, if you allow it. Used to label your account. |
| Account ID | A random identifier linking your data to your account. |
| Park visits | Which parks you log as visited and when, to show your visit history and progress. |
| Notes | Notes you write about a park. They're private to you. |
| Park sign photos | Photos you choose to submit of a park's sign. We review them and may use them to add or correct the park's hours and rules in the app. Photos are converted to JPEG before upload, which removes embedded metadata such as the location the photo was taken. |
We don't receive your Apple ID password or Google password. Apple and Google handle sign-in and send us only the details listed above.
Location
If you allow location access, your position is shown on the map so you can find nearby parks. It's used only on your device: the app doesn't send your location to us or store it. Apple Maps, which draws the map, works under Apple's privacy policy.
Abuse prevention
To stop spam and abuse, our servers briefly count requests per account, or per IP address for requests made without signing in. These counters are deleted automatically within about two hours. Our hosting provider also keeps routine server logs, which can include IP addresses, for a short time for security and troubleshooting.
Camera and photo library
The app asks for camera or photo library access only when you choose to submit a park sign photo, and it only uploads the single photo you pick or take.
How we use your information
Only to run the app's features: signing you in, showing your visits, notes and progress, and reviewing sign photos to improve park information. We don't use your information for advertising, profiling or tracking you across other apps and websites, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.
Third parties
We rely on a small number of services to run the app:
- Supabase hosts our database, sign-in system and photo storage (including all park photos shown in the app) on servers in the United States. It stores the information above on our behalf. Supabase privacy policy.
- Apple provides Sign in with Apple and Apple Maps. Apple privacy policy.
- Google provides Google Sign-In if you choose it. Google privacy policy.
We may also disclose information if required by law.
How long we keep it, and how to delete it
We keep your account information for as long as you have an account.
To delete your account, open the app and go to Profile → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account, email, name, visit history, notes, and the park sign photos you submitted, right away. If you signed in with Apple, the app also asks Apple to revoke its sign-in link to your account.
You can also email us to ask for a copy of your data, or to have it corrected or deleted.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Our database limits access so each account can only read and change its own visits, notes and submissions.
Children
The app isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update it on this page and change the effective date above. For significant changes, we'll also note them in the app's release notes.
